While traveling to France, a young woman was sitting on a bench with her handbag on the ground next to her. The bag was snatched by a cunning thief, who caught her off guard. She lost her passport and all the personal items that were in the bag. She learned a valuable lesson to never let her guard down.


Our spiritual life is much like that. Peter told us to beware of Satan because he "walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). Just like the thief who stole the bag, Satan tries to catch us off guard. Paul advised us to put on the armor God provides (Ephesians 6:10-11). With the whole armor God gives, you will be able to successfully stand up against all the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
We are in a spiritual war and must wear the full armor of God at all times, never letting down our guard.
